2012 - a new phase in life

   It has been 2 years since my last post in my blog. 2010 and 2011 was a hectic/busy yet fruitful moment for me. While juglling with work, continuous wedding cakes orders(every week) , i have another responsibility to hold up with. 26 March 2011, I became someone's wife.

   Cook for hubby,washing clothes, cleaning up house is part of my routine (same as what other wife would do to their husband). Its kinda tiring at times (Seriously,I seldom did that before marriage) but wat make me keep going, because i have realised that love for husband and aware my responsibilty as a wife make me go beyond than i should...and im loving it.

    Still have continuous wedding cake orders. This time around, i have a great support by both of my mum and hubby. So orders kept coming in...Praises to Allah!!! I admit, there were some enquiries that i was unable to reply cos the response of my customised cake decorating was too overwhelming. I do think I should find a helper to do continue my order. but the question here, who would want to help me out? Im just a home baker who has passion in cake decorating. I cant afford yet to give salary to my helper( if i have one).

    In the midst of busy schedule,somewhere in June 2011, I found out i was expecting. I felt like crying as i know I have orders to fulfil until end of the year and due to my condition,I became like a snail - slow movement! Still remember clearly, When i was in my my 7 months pregnancy, I have large order in that particular week. 2 sets of 3 tiers wedding cakes and 1800 of decorative cupcakes....it was such undesirable ,sleepless moment. Due to pregnancy, I had developed "elephant leg". So i have to lift my leg up every hour. Alhamdullilah, manage to fulfil all order....and i feel sense of satisfaction.

  My baby was born early this year, and i do really welcome that 3 months of maternity leave...trust me, besides went to polyclinic for baby checkup,I did not step out from my house for the whole 3 months at all.feel so good being pampered and not doing nothing at all. Totally different from normal routine where i kept rush here and there. 3 months doing nothing!!!!hahahaa

Cake decorating competition 2010

Dear all,
              I have participated a cake decorating competition organized by Bake it yourself Pte Ltd. This time, I have to decorate a cake with a theme of Singapore National Day.

             Therefore, I have designed a two tiered cake, topped with Singapore national icon - Merlion, a flow of Miss vanda joaquim orchirds and proudly Singapore flag. All sugarcraft are handmade by me(this is my first time creating Merlion and orchirds) All these is a must to see for all tourists who come to Singapore. I want to portray that Singapore is unique on it own with her several national icon. I also want to show that Singapore is a fine garden city in which something we can be proud of. "Singapore is my home' is a theme for my decoration -a very simple cake design indeed. I am not a professional yet as some of other participant is but i do really hope, this will be a platform for me to improve in my cake decorating skills.
